Composition II

I had to set this blog up for my Composition II class, and I figured I would use this opportunity to tell a little about myself.

I'm 28 years old and I reside in Parkersburg, West Virginia. I've mentioned this before but I'll say it again; contrary to popular belief, WV is it's own state. It seems like everytime I go on vacation there is someone who tells me once they have found out where I am from that they have a cousin in Richmond. This is not relevant to me.

I have never been married and I don't have any children. I love playing basketball, and I try to play with my younger brother any and every chance I get. I have a part time job at Victoria's Secret in our local mall, and I love it. I am the only guy working along 40+ beautiful girls. I get a discount for my mother and she enjoys that as well.

I spent 8 years in the Army Reserve where I did a tour in Iraq. I was a crane operator and my primary job was to set the force-protection concrete barriers at the polling sites all over the country. Although I believe we have no purpose being in Iraq, I was proud to serve and do my job. I met many of my lifelong friends while I was there.

I look forward to getting to know people via this blog - and I look forward to "following" everyone else!

Jason I would just like to say Thank you for serving your country. I wish that we were not over there but some feel that there is a job to be done. I would like it to be over. 9 years is long enough for them to figure it out themselves.
Again THANK YOU!

Jason,

I find it hilarious that you work at VS, don't get me wrong, I am not laughing at you. I have a very active imagination, I couldn't help imagining a male employee at VS. That's reality-show material right there! I wonder if going to work is a joy, always surrounded by lovely girls, or you experience estrogen overload!

Like Ande, I too would also like to thank you for your service to our country. You seem to be living quite a life, characterized by so many unique experiences. I look forward to getting to know you better through this blog! I want to wish you good luck in reaching all your goals, academic and otherwise! ☺ ~Nikke

Hey guys - thanks for your appreciation, that is really nice. Nikke, I am a novelty at VS and I love it. Verifying my heterosexuality sometimes comes into play, but I could not have asked for a better part-time job while I am working towards a degree. Also I'm learning a lot about women...

I am sure you are! Actually I think you are quite brilliant; more guys should get that bright idea and work at VS,they would be pleasantly surprised!

I wish more of our classmates would launch their blogs, I am a sucker for these things. I have an opinion on everything. I'm a facebook, twitter, myspace junkie. And now I am a blog junkie!

Jason, thanks for serving your life and your story. Are you still in Iraq or you back in your hometown.

Lashika I've been home since December of 2005, and out of the Reserve since 2008. I'm just concentrating on graduating right now - I've always thought about going back in the Reserve as an officer in a medical unit.

Nikke, (and everyone else) look me up on facebook - that's the only social network I really use, besides this blog of course.
